Concerts

Concerts featuring Campus Ministry choirs are held in the Basilica at key times throughout the academic year. Annual concerts include Advent Lessons & Carols in December and Commencement concerts in May.

The Passion
Friday, April 7, 8:30 p.m., South Quad between Coleman-Morse and Dillon Hall

The Notre Dame Folk Choir presents The Passion- a newly composed musical ritualization of Christ’s Passion- on South Quad. Emerging from a collaborative process between students in the Folk Choir and professional artists, the piece combines Scripture drawn from all four Gospels with original poetry, which is all set to newly composed music.

Basilica Schola Spring Concert: Scriptural, Hymnic, and Marian Devotions
Sunday, May 7, 8 p.m., Lady Chapel, Basilica

The Notre Dame Basilica Schola presents a post-Vespers concert of music celebrating scriptural, hymnic, and marian texts from the 16th to the 21st centuries. Included will be a tribute to the composer Ned Rorem (d. 2022) as well as the premiere of a newly commissioned work by the contemporary American composer Jerrick Cavagnaro.

Magnificat Choir Commencement Concert
Friday, May 19 at 6 p.m., Basilica

The Magnificat Choir will present their 2023 Commencement Concert in the Basilica. Donations will be accepted to support Our Lady of the Road in South Bend.
