Opening Hymn

Crown Him with Many Crowns (Tune: Diademata)

1. Crown him with many crowns, The lamb upon his throne;
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns All music but its own.
Awake, my soul and sing Of him who set us free.
And hail him as your heav'nly King Through all eternity.

2. Crown him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o'er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife For those he came to save.
His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high,
Who died, eternal life to bring, And lives that death may die.

3. Crown him the Lord of love, Behold his hands and side,
Rich wounds yet visible above In beauty glorified.
His reign shall know no end, And round his pierced feet
But downward bends his burning eye At mysteries so bright.

4. Crown him the Lord of peace, Whose power a scepter sways,
From pole to pole, that wars may cease Absorbed in prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, And round his pierced feet
Fair flowers of Paradise extend Their fragrance ever sweet.

5. Crown him the Lord of years, The risen Lord sublime,
Creator of the rolling spheres, The Master of all time.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For you have died for me;
Your praise and glory shall not fail Throughout eternity

Responsorial Psalm

Psalm (92)93, 1-2 .5 (Batastini)

R. The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty.

1. The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed;
the Lord has robed himself with might, he has girded himself with power. R.

2. The world you made firm, not to be moved;
your throne has stood firm from of old. From all eternity, O Lord, you are. R.

3. Truly your decrees are to be trusted.
Holiness is fitting to your house, O Lord, until the end of time. R.

Preparation of the Altar and Gifts

The Lord is on High (Mawby)

The Lord is on high, resplendent in light,
with majesty, power, dominion and might.
The fire of his judgment oppression shall feel,
and glory eternal his kingship shall seal.
O fill us with grace, and help us believe;
the riches and glory of heaven above,
with peace never failing and infinite love.
O open the word, its wonders unfold,
of wholeness and life, of mystery untold.
Then bless us and send us, your heralds to be,
till all of creation your glory shall see. Amen.

Communion Antiphon

Psalm 34 (Willcock, SJ)

R. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.

1. I will bless the Lord at all times, God's praise always on my lips;
in the Lord my soul shall make its boast. The humble shall hear and be glad. R.

2. Glorify the Lord with me. Together let us praise God's name.
I sought the Lord and he answered me; from all my terrors I was set free. R.

3. Look towards the Lord and shine in light; let your faces not be abashed.
The poor called, the Lord heard them and rescued them from all their distress. R.

4. The angel of the Lord is encamped around those who fear God.
Taste and see that the Lord is good. They are happy who seek refuge in God. R.

Communion Chant (mode VI)

Sedebit Dominus Rex in aeternum: The Lord will sit on his royal throne for ever;
Dominus benedicet populo suo in pace.
the Lord will bless his people in peace.

Communion Anthem

Ave verum corpus (Mawby)

Ave verum corpus, natum de Maria Virgine:
Vere passum immolatum in cruce pro homine.
Cujus latus perforatum unda fluxit sanguine:
Esto nobis praegustatum in mortis examine.
O Jesu dulcis! O Jesu pie! O Jesu Fili Mariae.

Hail, true body, born of the Virgin Mary:
Truly suffering, sacrificed on the cross for us.
From whose pierced side flowed water and blood:
Be for us a foretaste in death’s agony.
Oh sweet Jesus! Oh loving Jesus! Oh Jesus, son of Mary.

Alma Mater (Casasanta/O'Donnell, C.S.C.)

Notre Dame, our Mother, tender strong and true,
Proudly in the heavens, gleams thy gold and blue.
Glory's mantle cloaks thee, golden is thy fame,
And our hearts forever, praise thee Notre Dame.
And our hearts forever, love thee Notre Dame.
